She was the American women's Olympic gymnastics team captain for both the 2012 and 2016 "Fierce Five" U.S. teams.   Morgan was born on July 2nd, 1989 to Pamela Morgan and Michael Morgan. She was raised by her parents in Diamond Bar, Los Angeles. Morgan played a variety of sports as a kid, but only started to play soccer when she was 14. Morgan joined the Cypress Elite club team and came first in the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship. In addition, she placed third in the under-19 bracket. Morgan continued to hone her skills in soccer in Diamond Bar High School. National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) chose Morgan as an All-American Athlete. She also played for regional and state divisions of the Olympic Development Program (ODP). Morgan continued her career in soccer at UC Berkeley where she was the California Golden Bears' leading scorer from the beginning of her season.
